The method is based on controlled cooling of fat tissue, which causes selective death of fat cells in a natural way (apoptosis process). The final products of fat cell breakdown are excreted through the lymphatic and circulatory systems, during which surrounding tissues are not involved, because fat cells are less able to adapt to cold compared to other tissue cells (muscle, blood vessel, nerve, and skin cells).
